HANNAH PERRY
Broken Blooms – Dismantling the Fragile
Hannah’s personal photographs of flowers that have been frozen in liquid nitrogen, and also submerged into jelly have inspired this collection. 'Broken Blooms - Dismantling the Fragile' looks at the structure of the destroyed flower, and through the exploration of print processes such as; discharge printing, devore and digital design, fabrics have been created that show Hannah’s personal take on her images. Along with this, the use of resin and bubble wrap has been used to create fabrics with unexpected and dynamic properties. Techniques that have been used are bubble wrap injected with dye, crystal resin hand painted on to silk habotai and petal shards trapped in resin. A group of scarves designed especially for women’s summer wear will showcase the best designs of the collection.
