Yarn Making
Yarn plays an important role in fabric and garments. The garments’ weight, handle, texture,colour, function, behaviour and characteristic are all dependent on yarn. Yarn is everything.This yarn development project intends to produce many innovative ways of making yarn; where vibrant and original are mixed into patterns, in order to create some balanced and structuredwomenswear. The inspiration has come from installation called Aura from Zaha Hadid Architects and Form-Sound-Abstraction/ Sounds Visualization by Quayola, the graphic designer.Understanding the importance of yarn is the aim of this project. Everything starts with cotton and silk, where clean yarns turned into lively structures – the loopy and tassel. A blue and green tone and a touch of black are added in the palette, these features are combined to create a range of interesting jewelleries and structured garments with hand knit. Alternatively, outcomes could be used for interior design or accessories.
